Three ways to get off your ass, and write!

Ain’t nobody got time for that!

So if you have been anywhere remotely near the internet, you would recognize that tagline from the infamous Sweet Brown, who has reached a significant state of glow up, by the way.

Also, if you are a writer, you recognize that tagline as a resounding phrase from your mind every time the idea of writing pops up.

Yes, it’s true, writers love to write, but a lot of times never do. At least they don’t do so at a consistent pace wielding their ideal results.

You are probably Side-eyeing me, like, “how the hell you know my business?”

Well, um, because I am a writer, and have told myself that all too often, but you don’t get to call yourself a writer if you never write, now do you?

Short form: Nope!

So, let’s write!

Three ways to get off your ass, and write!

1) Get Up off your ass, literally!

Don’t mind the expletives. It comes with time. Also, I think I enjoy it *insert nonchalant shrugging girl emoji*. Figure out your time that works best for you. I’ve heard people say that early morning when the night is still lingering, kind of teasing morning works best. I prefer nights when everything is settling down. However, you may prefer midday. Either way, find it and write!

2) Brainstorm, outline, or whatever you want to call it!

Used to hate it! I hated it with a passion! However, I’ve learned that it makes the process less daunting and more productive. I am always on the go, and just like you, every time the urge and good ideas come, I am never sitting with the capacity to write them down. Download, Evernote, it’s an app. Thank me later!

3) Write on the go!

Yep! So, I mentioned Evernote previously. It is perfect for on the go, but so is Google Drive. I use Evernote for organizing and quick thoughts. However, Google Drive is where I let it all flow.

You are an artist, a writer to be exact, but you have creativity. To be successful in your writing career, you will need to exercise your creativity, especially when it comes to getting the pen to the paper.

You write dope sh!t, so own it!
